The course will present tissue characterization technologies for diagnostic purposes, as well as technologies for the prognosis of interventions and other therapeutic uses of Tissue Engineering from a Organ and Systems approach. During the course, students will formulate a project for the development and implementation of a methodology used by Tissue Engineering. Introduction to stem cells and cell therapy: Advanced therapies: concepts and overview. Consolidated advanced therapies. Mechanisms of differentiation from stem cells to somatic cells. Immunomodulatory and inflammatory cell therapy. Role of the physical environment in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Regenerative medicine, cell repair, and cell, tissue, and solid organ transplants.
