This is an advanced theoretical-practical elective course within the Wireless Technologies curriculum. It includes the following topics: Evolution of mobile systems; a detailed review of the architecture and operation of LTE and LTE-Advanced (4G) mobile systems, fifth generation (5G) networks, IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture, Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and Voice over 5G (VoNR) applications. Finally, trends and applications of future sixth generation (6G) mobile networks will be discussed.
