The course is both theoretical and practical in nature. Its purpose is to enable students to understand the formalism of relativistic quantum mechanics from the wave-function perspective, as applied to particles moving at high velocities. In addition, the Klein–Gordon equation for spinless relativistic particles and the Dirac equation for spin-½ particles are analyzed. Finally, bound states in the relativistic hydrogen atom are described using different models.
